Phil Rankine

Founder & CEO - United Group

Phil has over 30 years of experience building and leading ventures in the marketing and entertainment industries. He now leads the United Group, a full-service marketing agency specialising in experiential activations utilising the latest holographic and LED technologies. The group also develops new television formats for broadcast and distribution in local and international markets.

Phil's career began in the agency world at Wunderman Cato Johnson in Adelaide, before advancing to the position of Account Director at leading direct marketing agency Rapp & Collins in Sydney. He subsequently founded and led the Frontline Group for 25 years, delivering full-service campaigns and events for major corporations including Kellogg's, Unilever and Lion Nathan.

He then founded the Space Group, producing large-scale concerts for artists such as Elton John, Bob Dylan and Bon Jovi. These events sold over 150,000 tickets, delivering significant economic benefit to the South Australian economy. During this time, Phil served as an Advisory Board Member for the Adelaide Strikers cricket franchise during its foundational period in the Big Bash League.

Phil also led complex projects under extreme pressure, having been selected to appear on the inaugural and All Stars series of the Channel Nine format The Block. This experience honed his skills in strategic planning, relentless execution, television production and sponsor integration.
